Hi all.

Had these fault codes come up on carista:

P0764 - Cylinder 4 glow plug circuit/open
15922 - Manufacturer specific code

The P0764 can be cleared but comes back
The 15922 code cannot be cleared.

Engine management is on but goes off when I clear the P0764 but comes back.

This started when the weather turned very cold.

Has anybody else had an issue with these codes and what was the solution?
150 T32.

Thanks.

15922 is VW equivalent code for P0674, thus only one fault. Either the wiring or the glow plug itself.
Not directly related to cold weather except the glow plugs stay on just a bit longer when it's colder.
Interested how old/mileage of the van?

I had this earlier in the year ....i changed all 4 glow plugs. 3 are around £20 and the one with the sensor is £140ish

Is changing the glow plugs a diy job? Or how much to get them done by a garage?
It can be done diy. You need to give a good clean around them before removing them to ensure no dirt falls in when you remove them. I used a piece of water hose connected to the vacuum cleaner.

I paid £100 which i thought was good considering the cost if i snapped one.

If the glow plug is going to be seized or break it’s the same regardless of who’s operating the tools. The owner pays.

Gotta be less chance of a monkey on his drive with a socket, than a VW tech with 20+ years experience breaking one though surely
