I have just taken possession of a Jan 17 T6 4motion Kombi(only one sliding door) with quite a few bells and whistles on her. I have wanted one for ages. She's Indium Grey and the intention is for me to convert her into a campervan, although I may end up getting her done professionally as she's too nice for my amateur attempts!
I am already compiling a wish list of goodies(like a kid in a sweet shop) from just perusing the forum, new lights, electric latching doors, leisure battery etc etc!!
I am new to forums too, as social media etc seems to pass over my head, so please feel free to give constructive feedback but I have no doubt I will be tapping into peoples experiences where allowable.
Cheers all
Al

Welcome to the forum @Al K. prepare for your wallet to take a beating

 Thanks. I can imagine it's easy to spend. I've noticed your camper journey thread. I look forward to reading and learning. I'm just working out how to make all the toys I want to buy seem like a necessity...

You don’t have to worry about that. I will be done for you.

Welcome to the forum, Avoid threads by @Deaky, he leaves all other forum members feeling as if their vans are substandard due his awesome lighting and his professional looking self build.
Jokes aside welcome aboard. I too felt my van was too good for amateur efforts, I got it professionally converted and tested it out this weekend at a forum gathering in Bala. The whole experience has been brilliant. Havnt looked back since day one.
The search function is your friend. I've found many of my questions have already been answered before. I've also found social events such as forum meets or camps a wealth of info and worth a visit.
We are a weird bunch and like lots of photos. :tongue bounce:

:D It would appear you may all be right about my wallet. Luckily I am easily led . Ordered the extra seals for my doors and just changed the bulbs( whilst contemplating which after market headlights to buy as mine are the H4!). and as for the idea of a power latch.......

:thumbsup:Thank you for the warning :D:D I have begun to realise straight away that VW envy is a serious condition affecting the wallet.
I'll look at putting a couple of pictures on but I'm not too computer savvy and as said this is my first adventure into forums so please bear with me. I do like the sound of the meets etc I'm assuming the details of them are easy to find?

I fell for all of those you mentioned. I found the door seals the beat cheap mod. I found the headlights the best safety mod (I went for the H4 to the H7) and the power latch a great non essential but bling mod. If your colleagues have simple minds as mine do a power latch door will blow their minds. It also helps when you go for a wee at night and don't wish to wake your neighbours by slamming the sliding door.

Thanks for that, I feel slightly better that I'm on the right lines with the initial changes. I was struggling to think of a justification for the power latch but the slamming door reason has got me sold. And as for it bemusing my colleagues, I have a feeling I could stop paying my TV licence when I have one. Now to view the threads to get things ordered.

Hi and thank you. I was planning on keeping the mileage down on her by using my car most of the time. After a week of ownership I am now planning on selling the car! Had a Vivaro before and no comparison.
