Engine start /stop. Starts without deploying clutch

Hi, is it normal for the engine to start without pushing down the clutch after the engine has already stopped with stop/start assist? This has happened to me twice now, engine stopped about 4 to 5 seconds later restarts.

if the management system has decided the battery needs to start charging.

..

this normally happens when the battery is not fully charged.

or when sitting parked for a while with lights on etc....

the battery starts to get low, so the system starts the engine to charge the battery via the engine.

My 6.1 is a dsg so may be different but amongst other things it will restart when the car in front pulls off or if i put any weight on the steering wheel. Slightly annoyingly if i pull up and put it in park it stops but then sometimes restarts when take my foot off the brakes.
