Hi all
I've just had my engine light come on,it's been plugged in and can't remember the code but says its mass airflow meter,we took it out and gave it a good clean but the warning came back on after a few miles, I'm just wanting to check that it's nothing else further in the system that could be causing it

Thanks in advance

I'm sure that forum members will want to help you, as they always do, but I think a little more detail might be required.
Engine code (output), age, mileage, any other symptoms, ideally the fault code that you can't remember.....as always, the more information you can provide the better the chance of others helping you to resolve the problem.

It's a white 16 reg 102 bhp 5 speed, I've just found a picture of the code it's PO10400

Might be damage to the wires in the loom where they enter the plug for the mass airflow meter. (just after the air filter box)

Different plug (fuel temp sensor) but this is what to look for.

Thanks @Loz I'll have a look at that, when I Google the fault code it seems to point towards the egr, the van has 104000 on the clock so could be I'm thinking blank it off and map it out

EGR is P0401

Is it just P0401 we plugged it in today and it came up with P010100 this time

It's now come up with flashing coil light lack of power and code P029900 turbo under boost

Check for a split in the intercooler..(look for oil residue through the front grill)

I had a similar issue years ago with an other vw. It went into limp mode and turbo wouldn't spool up unless the engine was turned off and turned back on. It turned out to be the turbo. It was all blocked up and couldn't open the valve inside the turbo. Got it reconditioned and as good as new. Can't remember the codes but I remember the boost fault, also checked the N75 valve and it was good. I still have the car and not had problems with it since. Defo check the valve and pipework first. Worst case is to recon the turbo.

It's something I'm hoping it isn't I will be checking everything possible

An update on the engine light we reset everything and I took it for a run down the motorway, it started loosing power and the coil light started flashing,I got home on limp mode plugged it in and came up with p0299 code turbo under boost,we did a vacuum test thinking it could be N75 valve but all ok,took the bumper off and there's my problem intercooler has given up the ghost, now looking at a darkside intercooler as a slight upgrade
