Electric hook up options.

I started with one of those,

A carry over from the tent camping days.

I had the window cracked open and passed the cable though, the wind deflector stopped the rain getting in.

But that's just the link cable, you still need the EHU point to plug into.

Thanks Dell, so what EHU point did you use at the time?

Does that unit not just plug into the Electric unit on the campsite?

Yea, that’s what I thought. So in effect that Maypole unit is all you need to get 230v electricity into the Van.

If a person doesn’t want to install a permanent EHU point on the Van?

Also, how about wiring one of these into a permanent EHU in point on the Van as it’s quite a neat unit with the plugs USB and inbuilt consumer unit??

That's what I did. I cut the plug off the end and put a socket. Before putting the socket on i threaded the cable from under the passenger seat, under the floor covering and found a grommet into the bulkhead, then reattached the socket and placed next to the battery. The bank of sockets etc stay coiled under the passenger seat ready for use. When you get to site, use a normal 25m hook up lead from the socket under your bonnet to the site electrics. Nothing more elaborate and have used this for years.
