EGR & Adblue Problems

Just picked my T6 up after being in dock for 2 days. Not a very good advert for VW,
2017 T6 4 motion 204 Bi-Turbo (17k miles)
Had to have a new EGR valve & cooler fitted £ 880.00 Also new Adblue pump fitted £ 300.00.
Bit disappointed to say the least. Could not fault the lads at my local VW specialist in St Ives Cambs, as it was the 1st one they had seen and done. Evidently changing the EGR/Cooler is a bit of a nightmare to say the least.
So maybe we can expect a few more to fail at this sort of mileage/year ??

I don't think it's reasonable to be having to spend well over a grand on repairs on a vehicle with 17K miles on the clock, and the job should be very much within the capabilities of a competent mechanic.
