DRLs after facelift

Just asking if anyone can help, face lift T6 to T6.1 everything seems to work apart from DRLs and side lights
DRLs come on as they should however they do not dim when I put side lights on
I’ve tried diodes from pin 10 to pin 6 but they go brighter not dimmer when side lights switched on
Does anyone have any clues before I end up going back to T6
Thanks

I have the H7 headlight units on my T6 and the DRL’s stay on the same with the sidelights…. the DRL’s only go off when I switch on the headlights. This was the same with the previous H4 units too.

That's interesting.
Pretty sure my H7 drls go off on sidelights/position lights.
Might have to go out and check.....

In a later (H7+H15)T6.1 the Halogen DRL (H15 bulb) DO dim when side light is selected. It is not very noticeable at day but they do.
They turn OFF in both cases with high and dipped beams.

Thanks for replies I’ll check when next at the van in the dark
Not sure if they go out with high /dipped so I’ll look at that too

I'm pretty sure that the BCM controls the DRL/parking light function of the H15 bulb in the 6.1. The 6 has separate bulbs that are either on or off. The 6.1 and 6 have quite different electrical architecture, so dimming H15 bulbs may not be possible. You may need to add some separate 501 bulbs and holders into the high beam reflectors.

Or, if this is the only problem you got, live with it. I would consider it a success.

In my T6.1 the difference between DRL and side lights (on the same /dimmed H15 filament) is almost unnoticeable at day. Flimsy yellowish light, even with "ultrawhite" Maruta Halogen bulbs.

Not sure if your MOT cares / catches that , as long there is a light where it is supposed to be.

Yeah I get what you saying it’s just mot I’m worried about it’s not due till February but thought I’d try get it right just in case
Think I’ll just put it in and see what happens

DRL's only required after march 2018. Also for M1 vehicles, not vans, not sure if your a van or combi. Regardless of all that, they work, so nowt to worry about.

Just close the bonnet and walk away

How I read it, it's front parking lights that he doesn't have. Well, he does, but they are at DRL brightness, not dimmed to the equivalent of a 5W bulb.

So when the engine is running and lights switched off, you have drls only? Then when you switch on side lights, it stays the same and your tail and number plate lights come on? If so, what's the issue with that? And if the tail and number plate lamps remain on during dip and main beams then your OK.

Brightness doesn't matter, so if all that's happening is they don't dim in brightness then live with it.

Yeah this is what happens I was just concerned it would fail mot ?
To be honest it’s better as it’s a bit brighter on a night so I prefer it and am happy but mot is my worry
