Hi, i changed the dpf filter on my cxgb. i managed to set the ash but i can't learn new values for the differential pressure sensor in the basic settings.
I still have a big difference between the measured and calculated soot value. after regeneration i have calculated 6g and measured -4g.
thanks a lot for your help

Not needed.

Perfectly normal.

Actually, if they were the same, or even close, you would have issues with soot accumulation in the PDF.

Hi, where did you source your DPF from? just looking for one for my van, had mine cleaned but still rendering p266d error and soot in tail pipe so i assume it knackered.. still regens at its currently cycles (30g to 8g) but I imagine it will only get worse over time.

just to add to this I have a 2018 CXGB model SWB shuttle 8 seater, I have been looking for a part and found part 7E0254700PX aparently this isnt correct part I need 7LA254700AX can anyone shed any light on the correct DPF.. I found the below but they said based on my vim number it is compatbile but Gemini AI confirms the latter;

7E0254700PX (what Gemini Says)

7LA254700AX (recomended from seller)

7E0254700PX (what Gemini Says)
This one is the same as mine 2016 T6.
7LA254700AX (recomended from seller)
This one appears to be for a T6.1 so for over 2020.

For that price I wonder why people go through the dubious task of trying to clean them.

From my perspective, I was only just made aware of third party dpf.. I was under the impression you had to source a VW original given the materials that inside a dpf. . Worth a punt over the cost of a tps part which I just got a quote for on the basis I send my existing one back to them. They want 1800 plus vat with a surcharge of 500 if I don't return my old one. Hopefully this unit will play nice and get rid of my p226d error light. Cheers for the response

ok just wrap this up, I have finally got my head around all these DPF's and their versions, so mine is is a double chamber unit so isn't either of the above.. those are Euro 5 versions of the DPF, so I have found a bunch of compatible ones for be it from VW or third parties.

I have pasted below my findings if it helps someone source their own part like me with a little help from AI 😅.

here is another post that confirms the meaning of X etc in the suffix of the part no. DPF and CAT Part number query

Variation 1: The "AX" (7LA 254 700 AX)

  • Status: The Early / Original Version.
  • Application: This was the standard fitment for the early Euro 6 engines (approx. 2015–2017/18).
  • Context: Since your van is a 2018, it is likely one of the last to use this specification or the first to switch over. This part handles the standard Euro 6 regulations.

Variation 2: The "PX" (7E0 254 700 PX)

  • Status: The Mainstream Replacement (Most Common).
  • Application: This is the most common replacement part found today for the T6. It largely replaced the "AX" in the parts catalog for standard Euro 6 vehicles (PR Code: 7MM).
  • Difference: Externally it looks identical to the AX. Internally, it may have updated wash-coats on the catalytic bricks to improve longevity or efficiency. Most people replacing an AX will be directed to this part.

Variation 3: The "TX" (7E0 254 700 TX)

  • Status: The Updated "Stricter" Version.
  • Application: This part is typically specified for vehicles meeting the newer Euro 6 DG (Euro 6d-TEMP) standards.
  • Difference: This is not a direct "plug-and-play" upgrade for older vans. It is designed to work with the updated engine software found on late 2018+ and T6.1 models.
  • Cost: The "TX" version is often significantly more expensive (sometimes £200–£300 more) than the PX because it contains a higher load of precious metals (platinum/palladium) to meet the stricter tests.
