Hi Guys,

I hope to get Jasons Hifi setup in my van soon....but one question that's haunting me is.....can I get the wires from the head unit and the power cables for the Amp under the front passenger seat if I also get the Kiravans double swivel for it?

I need to swivel the front passenger seat, but I need to make sure the wires are not damaged in any way.

Please let me know how people have overcome this ....or not.

Thanks

Matt

You can certainly get the cables under the seat as the floor has channels that already contains wires the run under the seat. The channels stop the wires getting crushed. The only bit I can't answer is if the amp will fit under along with the plugs.
The top half of the seat base swivels so anything in the lower section won't move and the wires won't become twisted.

This isn’t a double seat, but it is a Kiravans swivel I fitted to a previous van so it might give an idea of how much vertical space you’d have. There is a safe on floor then mounted on top of that is a JL audio amp and there was still room for the swivel to be bolted down without crushing the wiring.

If you mean can you fit the amp and sub in the seat base with a double swivel it's a massive no.

The kiravans and other double bases not only rotate but also the pivot point slides.

There's simply no way to put wiring up into the base without it being sliced.

Ignore what I posted!

My sub is under the passenger swivel with the amp under the driver's seat. I originally just wired in a connector that you could just disconnect to swivel the seat. But it was a bit of a pain.

Replaced it with a longer speaker cable that goes under the swivel, up the piller and thought 2 grommets into the bench base with about meter of slack in the base so you can turn the swivel without messing about.

The sub is fine this way but doubt it would be ideal to have the amp there too. Under the driver's seat is fine though.
