Dmf Adjustment Noise When Turning Engine Off

hey guys
Relatively new on here, but would really appreciate some help.
So I’ve had my t6 dsg highline for 6 months now, and when I turn the engine off, there is a noise. (Clicking / almost clunky noise for about 5seconds)
I took it back to Vw for them to have a look, before I left Vw I asked a technician to have a listen, to see what he thought. And he thought it was a case of a new dmf.
Next day I get a call,
And they’ve said, the noise is the dmf adjusting itself as the engines being turned off, so nothing to worry about.
But Surely the technician would of know that, surely mine isn’t the first he’s heard, if it that’s a common noise.

Has anyone else had this.
Or got any ideas ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ???
Cheers

There are pumps that circulates coolant and also the adblue system pumps the adblue back into the tank so that it doesn’t freeze in the pipe.

The DMF only has a few springs on it..

I doubt it will make noise for 5seconds....

The engine balance shaft weights have be known to generate noise on shutdown.... (TPI about it) but again not for 5seconds.

Like @Loz says the pumps run for an extended time...

And the EGR valve cycles to help clean itself, but that's more of a clicking.

Can you get a recording of the noise on your phone and post it here?

I hear it, it is like a servo sound so could also be the aircon flaps returning.

I just thought about the sound again and it's like a pump with a non-return valve click at the end.
