Disconnect heater rear window to allow tailgate removal

I need to remove my tailgate and I need to disconnect the heated rear window so I can pull the loom out

Can anyone tell me how it is done? Don't fancy damaging it by just tugging even if It looks like a blade terminal.

I replace the loom in my tailgate that has rear wash/wipe and heated window, i dont remember any issues or trickyness with the glass, pretty sure i just pulled the spade terminals off each side and it was as simple as that

The issue you are going to face is unplugging the high level brake light, i broke mine trying to get it out and the official VW method of removal is to bust it (although some members have successfully removed thiers without braking breaking

Thanks Pauly! Yes I already broke that light At least it is relatively cheap!
Do you remember if the plastic mount stays with the window or with the wiring loom?

I hadn't spotted that

They are male spades and came out easily using a trim tool to lever on the heat shrink
