Disability van

Hi

My t6 van is a wheelchair accessible vehicle. It's what I need for my wheelchair. The manual is for a caravelle.

I enter via rear tail lift and my wheelchair is bulky so I would not have room for typical camper layouts.

All I really want is a bed and some ventilation. I don't eat much and I'm ok with a packet of crisps for dinner so kitchen wouldn't be used.

I've two dogs and we go to dog shows UK wide which costs £250 in hotels across a weekend.

I used to go camping before I was disabled and I'm fine roughing it for a few days. I've still got a Thermarest mattress which I can use on floor of van.

I've also been looking at some wooden beds and in also considering a custom bench bed build with dog cages underneath to save space.

My concern is ventilation esp in summer. There is no electric setup, just the 12v sockets which will drain the battery fast.

What size power station would I need to run air con all night?

The only windows I can put down are the front windows.

It's already a greenhouse driving in summer so any ideas for more ventilation will help, esp the dogs.

I also need to consider window vents. Only my front windows come down. I do not have sliding windows.

It might all just be expensive to be worth it but exploring options.

Thanks Karen

There is also the tailgate stand off bracket for £10-12. Basically you can lock the tailgate open a short distance.

Assumption is the tailgate latches in the normal way once the ramp is up.

I've added photos. It's carpeted and floor is one level. I've got a rear air vent on one side and air con controls in rear ceiling. And one 12v sockets in rear.

No rear windows open, only the taillift

@k4renm4c Do you use both of the rear passenger seats? Something like one of these would work if you don’t need both seats or give them a call to see what they’d recommend. Not sure where you are based but Flatout are based in Huddersfield
