We are selling our debus awning, possibly the best and most used piece of equipment we bought for the van.

Looking for £50 collected (HP1)

In fact we like it so much we have bought a new one, I bought the new poles about a new ago then decided this year to get a new canopy too (triggers broom). There is not much wrong with this one and in fact having pitch the new canopy for the first time I’m wondering exactly why I bought it!

It can go up in multiple configurations and even be used as a tarp (just reconfigure when you go out to cover your gear).

Now the issues:
Firstly the poles, the connecting wire has broken on one connection of one pole. Could probably be fixed but does not effect function

The fixings holding the guy lines are fraying, this does make it a little more difficult to tension the lines but not really and only at all when wet. Affecting the 3 front lines, photo of worst. I bought some ratchet guy lines to avoid further wear but not used them (not included in sale but can be bought from amazon for ~£10IMG_6157.jpeg
Finally, it seems to have gone a little baggy at the back by the kador rail attachment, it’s only very slight but means you need a little more fall on the awning when pitching for bad weather. And having now pitched the new canopy I think it’s not any better and maybe could be resolved by using the additional 2 guy lines at either end (been removed from day one)IMG_6153.jpegfinally, I thought the canopy was getting a little faded:

But it seems like maybe this is just me, the new one is even lighter, as you can see here from the bags:

Great bit of kit! Mine and a dometic shelter have replaced the use of my vango air awning! So much lighter, easier setup and options.
Quick of thread topic, did you ever waterproof yours? I’m considering this after this first year of use?
Cheers

No, I never waterproofed it, never needed to. We did suffer do condensation underneath on dry nights though, if you aren’t careful you get a wet head! When it raining, as long as there is a fall it seemed fine.

But the main thing is it’s inside/outside space and so as long as it undercover our shoes, chairs etc were ok

I’ve never proofed mine, and been very happy how it’s performed, especially comparing to some expensive awnings I used to have with the caravan!
