Debus air sun canopy with side walls and front - anyone got this setup?

Looking for a more compact option for single nights and this looks like it might be a good option. We like somewhere closed off at night for the toilet, so was considering the sides and front, but the last time I bought a different one with sides and front it ended up being more hassle to put up than the driveaway awning and flapped all night in the wind! Wondering how people find these in moderately windy conditions and are the sides and front easy to add? Does it all pack into one bag?

Cheers

View attachment 283603We've got the Debus air canopy and it's great for a quick to put up option. We also have the door and it with the sides can be left attached and packed in original bag. Plenty of pegging points.
how do you find it in the wind? And are the sides easy to attach? Looks like they zip on? The other one we had was a nightmare so just want to avoid another expensive mistake. Thanks

I think with these types of canopy there are always some extra measures required to avoid the wind/flapping issue. like to baffle out along the bottom of the van as much as possible with 'stuff' to reduce the under draft.

Yes they all just zip on, first time just need to make sure they go on the correct side. As mentioned we leave them on when packing away. With the 2 front straps they provide a lot of tension to keep the thing in place. We don't tend to use the other guy ropes. I will say we found the sides need to be pegged quite wide so the sides are taut. Like mentioned above, if you can eliminate wind from under the van that will make a big difference.
We'd buy it again, very happy with it.

Ah nice and in the orange too.. thats what I’ve just ordered.. No windows in the sides though.

The subject of awnings with sidewalls came up in another thread on here a few days ago and I posted this response:
@EAN When you say 'privacy' are you talking full enclosed or the two sides? I made a couple of side walls up for our Debus from a white tarp (other colours are available!). I pressed a few eyelets into it and use a couple of spring clamps at the top - depending on how you want them, they can be pulled out as in the pictures or fixed square to the roof. In Italy last year, we had a horrendous storm but it was still warm and we could sit outside without the rain getting to us and, importantly, it all stayed up. As you might make out from the pictures, the campsite was quite busy so we really needed that little bit of privacy They're a bit 'MacGyver' but actually look OK in practice.

Hi @Frigo110 , that's on a lwb, we ended up sending it back for warranty as it was leaking slightly where it attached to the awning rail, maybe it was the first use in the rain and the stitching need to seal it don't know, anyhow I've got a brand new one now warranty exchange from funkyleisure, but in the meantime we ended up buying the vango sun air as it took a while to receive the warranty replacement.

FWIW We’ve used ours now for a few trips and I’d say it’s good in low winds and super quick to put up, but we’ve had issues on windier days with it pulling out of the awning rail as the wind really gets under it. Probably possible to improve that by having something around the edge but that means more stuff and more faff, so we’d probably stick with our smallest vango air for a longer trip even though it’s a little more bulky

I was curious because I have seen on SWB vans quite stretched to the sides. I think I’ll get one. Looks quite nice for a short sta or even for the last night after packing the big awning away to have an early start the next day.

I was speaking to a couple that had one of these last week , they were pleased with it .
Looked good quality but in the black it looked very dark inside and it was a roasting hot day so I bet it was damn hot in there .

I was thinking of going with the orange but I´m a bit nervous that the tint will drive me mad in the sun.
