DAB aerial options for pop top / barn doors

Has anyone fitted something like this to the top of their barn door?
I don’t want to install a shark fin onto the pop top, so I think the next best / just as good solution would be to install this on the barn door.

Some aerials need a ground plain, That is normally the steel roof. The kit shown i believe is the basis for shared DAB, FM. The T6 has all its Antenii shared between two door mirrors. That is FM, DAB, GPS, Mobile phone. It is of convenience and profit to the Dealers only constant breakages and poor reception compared to roof mount. The T6.1 has a nob head rubber sheath on the front roof containing what ever aerials where ordered from new. There are VAG type retrofit dealer around GB that might do a shark fin with as many of those aerials as you wish. certainly the one in Poole Dorset sells and fits them usually on the rear roof. At least that is where they said they would put mine probably because it is a Caravelle with all sorts of other stuff in the way in the front roof.

I thought that your vehicle was a 6.1 with the rubber boot front roof? Have a look at the Poole website see what they have and communicate with them they may give some advice or even fit it for you if yo wish.

Thanks. I do have the rubber front boot thing on the roof, under the front of the pop top.

On my previous, none pop top t6, I had a shark fin fitted to the roof. Hence I thought the aerial I have linked to would do just as good a job if mounted to the rear door.

I’ll ask my local guys and get his suggestion. They are about to route the rear camera cable under the van, so thought I’d have them fix a better DAB aerial at the same time.

This is the wiring in the drivers door.
Are these two connectors my GPS and DAB aerial connectors for the wing mirror?



I do have a square plastic bulge at the front on my roof (under the skyline poptop). So not sure what should be in there?

I was reading this post with interest, when I stumbled upon the following comment "The T6.1 has a nob head rubber sheath" and wondered whether, as a T6.1 owner, I should be offended?!
