Cylinder 3 Sensor - Warranty or Not

Hi Guys, this seems to be a persistant fault.
Got the Cylinder 3 Glow Plug changed under warranty, this lasted 11 months before I got the same error, the people who replaced it said any warranty ran out when the warranty on the van expired so I took it to a local garage.
They fitted the new sensor which has only lasted 8 months, they say there is no warranty on electrical parts but surely it should have lasted more than 8 months?
What if the next one last only a month or two, should there be a warranty on these parts or not?

VW are correct in what they are saying, when a part is replaced under warranty it falls inside the vehicles 3 year warranty so even if it was done inside the last 12 months the warranty expires with the vehicle (as you didnt pay for the job)
The only exception is when you pay for a job, or even pay a contribution towards a job, then the warranty runs from the date the job was completed even if it is inside the last 12 months of the vehicle warranty

As far as warranty for work done at a indy garage then that is between you and them but in my opinion all parts should come with a 12 month warranty minimum shouldnt they ??

I thought all genuine VW parts came with 24 month warranty ?

That's what I've been told too .... Regardless of any warranty.

If it's a paid for job.

I was under the same impression, that just about everything had at least a 12 month warranty.
Yes the job was paid for 8 months ago to replace the sensor.
I've seen a well know parts company delivering to the garage so I'm going to phone them and ask if they have the part and if it come with a warranty.
