Curious Hole In The Door

Hi all. As I was driving down the M6 today a white T6 passed me and there was a hole picked in the door just above the leading edge of the handle on the sliding door. Looked like it had been pulled out into jagged points but it was noticeably bizarre. Is this an issue that needs to be considered? I'm taking the panels off my door tomorrow so will see what's there but anyone know anything about why there?

That's what I was afraid of...
Now I'm also wondering if the blue puffer jacket driving it had nicked it or had got it back....

Nah if he was driving it he had the keys and wouldn’t have needed to cut his way in. I’m sure that this was to get access to the cable to pull the door lock open, used to happen on the T5. I had believed that deadlocks put an end to this method, but maybe not?

Could have been hot wired! Anyone in a summer blue puffer jacket has to be dodgy!

But perhaps someone tried the T5 method and failed as it was aT6? Hopefully.
