Cornering fog lights swapped?

Hi T6ers, how are you doing? After over a year with my T6 I have noticed that my corner fog lights illuminates on the opposite side than expected. Meaning that if turn left, an outside (right) fog light turns up.
I asked my mechanic to have a look at it, but he says they can't be put in reverse, so the fault must be electronic in ECU. At first I thought it has something to do with a van thing, so that you don't scratch your outer corner, but several people confirmed they should work the same as usual, illuminating the inner corner.
Has anyone stumbled onto similar issue?
Fog and reversing function is uninfluenced and is working as supposed to.

Any ideas please?

Are the fog lights factory installed or retrofitted?
Are doors open/closed displayed correctly on MFD - right is on right, etc.?

Do you have any diagnostics tool?
With e.g. VCDS or OBDeleven you could turn on each of the lamps individually - just to verify they are wired correctly from the BCM (central electrics).
 
Fogs are factory-installed. Doors are displaying fine. Even LED lamps are where they should be.

I have a VCDS and Carista. Where should I look for the individual turn on? Are they in Output tests? Is this Central electric or a different module? Thanks

use a diagnostic tester (VCDS) to check and reset any fault codes and see if that sorts it
use VCDS to activate the left and right fog outputs (module 09) and see if the correct side illuminates
 
Excellent. Could you please post full VCDS Auto-Scan - I'm a bit curious to compare the codings.

You could test each of the cornering lights individually. The testing is done via Output tests.
VCDS > Select > 09-Central Electrics > Output tests

I actually have my worries that the cables were swapped at some occasion. That's the thing, I can't recall seeing them working as designed, but I didn't pay much attention to them before. Compared to my Passat B7, I don't see a big effect on the corner lights. Halogen or LED bulbs (H11), I see them very lightly. The main LED beam is doing most of the work anyway. I am more curious what could have gone wrong.

The car was rebooted a few weeks ago, when I had my car repaired after a crash. I told the mechanic to pay attention to the fog lights and he claims they are connected as supposed to.

I will try the Output tests, but most probably will do that over the weekend.

Realistically the cornering light idea is bollox, doesn‘t help in the slightest. If you’ve ‘upgraded‘ to LEDs from one of the popular retailers you’ll find that they are even less effective than OEM.
You can’t see it when driving (hopefully) so don’t worry about it.
 
All right, so the Output tests confirmed what we all suspected. The fog lights are reversed.
The most important question is...can they be swapped via coding or is this a mechanical switch?
Do I assume correctly, that the harness for the fogs is in the right wheel arch? I have a LHD, I am in Czech Republic. Do you know what cables are connected to their respective lamps? Can a slightly advanced amateur do it himself?

Realistically the cornering light idea is bollox, doesn‘t help in the slightest. If you’ve ‘upgraded‘ to LEDs from one of the popular retailers you’ll find that they are even less effective than OEM.
You can’t see it when driving (hopefully) so don’t worry about it.
It's what I have mentioned. My Full LED headlamps are OEM, and they are great. I slightly raised the beam, and it shines very well. After my crash, I am surprised that original halogen fog H11 is better visible than H11 LED replacement. So first thing is that I am putting back the "yellow" H11. I still want to work them as designed, even though they do not make that much effect.

I don't think so.

Per wiring diagram
there is a 10-pin connector near horn from where the fog lights are fed - pin 5 (white/blue on BCM side) to the left fog light, pin 6 (yellow) to the right fog light.
