Carista Evo and T6.1

All my lights are OEM at the moment!
2016 T32 Highline LWB.
I think the standard headlights are OK too - but only OK! I will be upgrading.
Does it just turn on the dipped beam at the side you are cornering on? I've got aftermarket THQ V1's on my T6.1.

Carista (the white one) worked fine and simple to operate on my T6, I was looking at the new gen on (black) for T6.1, doesn’t the Bosch ecu restrict its operation?

My take on the subject:
I don't think it is a problem of the the Bosch ECU. That started in 2021 ( practically 2022 registration), many proper T6.1 haven't it at all. *
The issue with the Bosch ECU is that it is very difficult to remap (some say impossible) but that is out of the scope of Carista (and all the cheap/easy to obtain tools, VCDS included).
The issue that you may find with Carista and the T6.1 (all of them) is that the electrical architecture of the T6.1 is completely different from the T6. Another car. Many things that you would do on the T6 wih long coding require to use "Adaptation" in T6.1 , and there is a huge set of them. Try to code a LED bulb, if you dare.
That is where your Carista may fail, but surely it will improve the compatibility with time.
Personally it is not my tool of choice, but surely it has a large enthusiasts base here.

* in order to get rid of the confusion, I proposed to use the blasphemy T6.2, to uniquely identify the (small?) set of the last T6s with Dxxx engine, big tank AdBlue, etc.

My 2021 6.1 has a Dxxx motor (DNAB? Id have to double check the exact code, but deffo a 'D') and thats a goodly way from the end of production,

The 6.1 uses the MBQ electrical architecture, very widely used in VW passenger cars going back a ways now, and which, as you say, differs form the PQ25 system in the 6. Nevertheless, as you state, youre just changing configuration settings rather than actually trying to hack past security software, and I can confirm Carista works perfectly on it.

Then yours is the older Dxxx T6 that I know of. I have seen some BUILT in 2021 but all were 2022 REGISTERED.
It is definitely one of the last T6s, since FWIK production stopped somewhere in 2023 and some where registered and sold later in 2024/ 25
Anyway there is not any further evolution on the T6 platform (some would say of the Tx platform, but that is for another thread) .
I wonder if they really sold so few of them (in UK ? ) since rarely we get into them here, and consequently there is less knowledge and documentation.

Just checked - mines definitely DNAB, November 2021 registered.

For the love of God, does that make it a...6.2?!
