Hi there
I'm looking at (reluctantly) selling my 2017 Caravelle Executive. She isn't advertised, but I saw your post and thought, well, worth dropping you a line.
She's 2 litre TDI, 150 BHP, DSG.
T6 & Euro 6 so ULEZ compatible.
Bamboo Green (like a blue/green teal).
33,000 miles (of which I have done 12,000 since purchase in November 2023).
Nappa leather interior in beige not black (it's gorgeous) with walnut cappings.
Cascavel Wheels, all good condition, including the spare.
Towbar (not used by me).
A few extras I had done by VW approved bodyshop on purchase:
- VW side bars (the stainless steel ones that are neat and pivot in).
- VW spoiler
- Anti-child messing stuff - extra carpets everywhere, VW kick plates on doors, boot ledge protector etc
I also changed the suspension to adjustable shocks, springs and droplinks (H&R Coilovers). This was to resolve the fore and aft wallow NOT to turn it into some slammed monster. I did a bit of research on this forum first and took it to CRS Performance to get this done when I first bought her.
I also have a full set of Cascavels, also good condition, but with winter tyres on.
Service history at main dealer to 2019, then VW authorised specialist (have the bills) and most recently VW Basingstoke. I've done annual services in June 2024 and June 2025, plus a winter service check before taking it to the Alps in 2024. I've also spent a bit of time checking on the regen and DPF because the EGR went on my old T5 and I didn't want this van to have any similar problems. Most recently, I took it to Martins in Basingstoke last week to change brake fluid, drain oil, put new fuel pressure sensor in, give it another regen checkover and sort out a rattle on the RHS electric sliding door.
The "reluctant" bit is because I bought her to replace my old T5 with a ULEZ-compatible model. I shopped around and looked at quite a few and this one was hands-down the lowest mileage and nicest spec. But although I've treasured her and as you can see from the above, have spent quite a lot of money on her, I live in London and am sick of people bumping her. At the moment she has a scratch on one wing mirror (thanks, Amazon delivery van) and a very minor scuff on the rear quarter (thanks, local builders' van) and a similar scuff on the lower front valance (unknown). I also have a tight driveway with a really annoying cherry tree that has a TPO on it and a neighbour that won't let me turn in wide. So I've got a slight dent in the roof - blink and you'll miss it - but I'm a perfectionist and it annoys me. I had the exact same roof dent on my old T5 van too.
The second reason for sale is that my daughter and I used our T5 a lot to go away in. But although we did two trips to the Alps in the Caravelle shortly after buying it, we haven't done anything since. She's just turned 15 and doesn't want to go away with Mum any more. Plus she's in GCSE year so we won't be going away for the next 18 months. So it's being used as a town runaround with just 2 people up front and the dog in the boot, which doesn't suit it, nor does it suit my obsession with other people bashing it as stated above.
As you can see from the above, I'd bought the Caravelle as a "keeper". But I've been gearing myself up to the unfortunate truth - which is that I need to get a town runabout that's smaller - so I would sell at the right price. Looking at Autotrader I'd say retail is £35k-£37k, but it's got that dent on the roof and I've not had a chance to sort out the scratches which ordinarily one would do if selling, so I'd hope for maybe £31k-£32k, given the low mileage and spec?
Might not be your bag, or your budget, so no worries. Have attached some photos - randomly from my phone reel rather than "sale" photos (hence none of interior) but happy to send others/share invoices/service history etc. Am in TW12 (Hampton Court) if you wanted to take a look. (IMG 6925/6 were taken last weekend...waiting for daughter to finish athletics!)
Cheers, Alex
