Can anybody help in identifying this behind the scuttle panel please

Afternoon everyone I had the wiper arms and scuttle panel off today to clear all the leaves and accumulated detritus out but can anyone tell me if this is a vent?? and is it missing a cover ? It's on the passenger side and there is a hole on the drivers side that's covered up.
It's a 2018 Danbury Surf campervan based on a T32 Kombi

Ok thanks I thought it must have something to do with the climate system,does that look like the correct cover over it do you know?

A good opportunity to make a big noise reduction in the van, sound deaden the scuttle.

Would that be via that sound deadening silver stuff?

I used the Dodo Deadn hex on mine, certainly helped with making it quieter. Nice quick win.
