Camper Insurance quotes

Had a quote back today from Howdens of £860. 10k miles/yr. Camper conversion and various mods declared with 3 drivers and foreign travel for 30 days. Also has commuting.
I wasn't too upset by it, so hard to cover all the potential pitfalls of misinforming on initial declaration.
Definitely give Adrian flux a call

Yeah deffo shop around. Insurance is so ‘variable’. I might get a great quote with Howden but an awful one with a/n other and for you vice versa.

Just found out that travel insurance for just 6 days in Singapore next year, including our damned "pre-existing" conditions (+ age), will cost considerably more than a full year's fully comp on the van - which actually makes me think that buying the van and doing regular short trips around Blighty instead of enduring the hassle of airports and uncomfortable flights abroad was a pretty good move! Every cloud......

We have a KGM policy with Howdens/Thatcham. £60k value, full camper conversion. 10k miles/yr, 90 days euro cover, 2 named drivers, both clean licences, 13+yrs NCD protected. £399/yr.

I have just insured my 2019 T6 Pop Top with Just Kampers £560. Fully Comp. 8K miles including commuting. I have been sent a letter about Agreed Value. Is it worth paying to agree a value ? I have never had a form like this from my other insurance companies. Anyone had experience of an agreed value , it is not compulsory.

I'd also recommend Adrian Flux - been with them 4 years now for my 2021 camper conversion - unlike other insurers they don't quote low to get your business, then hike up the renewal price - just had inflation adjusted increases each year - last renewal £352 + nominal sum for agreed value.

Flux have actually reduced my premium this year.
I was quite surprised about a nearly 10% reduction (Just Kampers)

I´ve done the agreed value when I insured with JK last year. Was around £10 for the change of policy, value is at 40K (28K previous) which increased the premium by less than a £/month.
Let´s assume they pay it out if something goes wrong I would say it is worth it.

Seems they all dropped prices after last years profit dash and the government talk of intervention.

LV have always been cheapest for me, much cheaper than flux an JK and all the others mentioned regularly. Yet they still managed to shave the price down again.
Just wish I’d kept their breakdown cover on the policy as it gets better reviews than many others and, since having to add separate EU trip cover to the AA policy (which I stupidly thought would be cheap to do) I’d have been quids in.
Guess I’ll stick it back on next renewal.

Just done the dreaded call, 26 days before due date. Adrian Flux again, this time using their own agreed value policy at £48k, that was an extra £18.
6000 miles a year, parked on the drive, max no claims me and the wife, no speeding convictions or claims.
£400.98, £60 more if I wanted 8000 miles (we did just over 5000 last year).
I need to send them 7 fresh pictures for their AV.
That's good for me!

Does the £400 incl. breakdown, legal or anything?

I pay £600 now, 12.000miles, breakdown incl. 90 days EU, legal cover, windscreen, parked on the drive, social & commute, ...
Haven´t been asked for new pictures.

I'm with Greenflag for breakdown which covers the family fleet, but the policy includes legals, limited contents, EU cover, SDP and windscreen. Excess at £500. Easy to deal with, commuting bike and nippers car insurance both with them too. They've been really good in the past with 3rd party claims on my bike insurance. I do feel a small element of loyalty to them!

£600 seems very reasonable for 12k miles. Probably like Stratfordshire, we are in what is considered a lower risk zone, previously in Sutton Coldfield, policies were massively high!

Aplan/Howdens - specifically ThatchHam branch.

Are specialist campervan insurance, with agreed valuation etc etc etc.

Plus if you mention T6 forum you will get a discount.

I paid £463 last year 8000 miles & commute from Caravan Guard. It's getting close to within a month of renewal so I'll see what they offer.
Mine went up about £20 in January with CG. Still the cheapest of all the usual suspects for me
