Seen a couple this week end, a lovely new 67, black one in Colindale and an older one in Watford.
But .. Neither had n/s sliders...

What’s that all about?? Cost cutting

There was one in my VW showroom and the slider was on the N/S
You sure they were UK vans?

Edit..

Thinking about it, my friends slider is on the O/S, so i'm not sure now.

Haha.. Edit Edit..

Google image UK Cali and they are all on the O/S, so i'm totally confused now....

They are all offside as the built in accommodation unit only comes in one version.

Thanks Loz, so that’s why.

Bloomin weird idea especially for all that extra cash. Makes me appreciate my Transporter conversion even more now.

Hi & thanks

For the money, I’d expect passengers to at least be able to get out on the pavement side.

Swings and roundabouts, the Westie is the same and I actually find it more convenient having the sliding door on my side, makes loading stuff in quicker and my grandaughter can get in my side and I can have her fastened in quicker and on our way. Twin slider would be best but I've had the door on either side and prefer it this way. Probably helps that I virtually never park on the road though. I'd love it if the fuel filler was on the driver's side though, it's a pita where it is.

For us it's definitely better having it on the drivers side. Parking on the driveway I can park nearside up against the wall, and nice and quick to open the sliding door - no walking around the van. But, we rarely have to park on the roadside.
