I was under the rear of my van (T6 T28) to replace the spare wheel and I noticed what appears to be part of a broken spring at the top of the rear coil springs, on both sides. They are obviously a smaller diameter than the main springs, so what are they?
Thanks

1. Not a chanceSo went to move my van yesterday. A loud PING from the front and found that the driver side front spring has broken. They are standard T32 springs on a 2018 camper. Three questions:
1. Would these be covered under VW extended warranty?
2. If not then how difficult is it to fit new ones myself?
3. Are there any better springs than the standard OEM? I don't want to lower the van.
Ta. For answers.
I got my broken rear springs replaced under extended warranty at 5 years oldSo went to move my van yesterday. A loud PING from the front and found that the driver side front spring has broken. They are standard T32 springs on a 2018 camper. Three questions:

The normal response is that it's wear and tear and only manufacturing defects are covered. How many miles has your van done?Spoke to VW - they say 'up to the warranty people' but 'don't see any reason that the springs are not covered'. So booked in for the driver side. I will pay for the passenger side.
Doesn't matter what it's used for. I'd be very very surprised at that mileage if they accept it's a manufacturing defect and replace. No harm in trying of course.44K. It is only a leisure vehicle.
Yes that is very annoying and one of the bad things about the all in plan.So - YES the spring is covered under the extended warranty -But VW have looked at the van and there is an oil 'weep' from the crankshaft seal. Guess what - that is not covered by the extended warranty
. They say it is not too bad so could be left and watched. Funny how a £200 spring is covered but a £1000 oil seal is not!
