Bolt for spare wheel holder query

Mmmm thats an interesting one as mine is effectively "captive" in that it doesn't come out when fully unwound which surprised me so intrigued to see one that is not there

From memory they’re M10’s. You’re missing a specific captive bolt that “locks” in position. Yes, the left hand one does come out. These are the ones attached.

Maybe somebody was in the process of stealing the spare wheel and got disturbed, I’d fit a locking device asap - have a Search and you’ll find several options.
You don’t need a special bolt, it’s the same thread as the one opposite, measure the depth of thread in the hole and order a hex head flanged 8.8 generic bolt.

mmmm maybe if they didnt know what they were doing as that isnt an easy bolt to get fully out like it has been removed as having seen the photo above I now understand why it doesnt drop out as it has barbs on it.
