Bird strike

We hit a pair of them.

One glanced off the windscreen.

Didn't see where the other one went.

We did get some funny looks as we pulled in to the campsite

I try to avoid birds or other animals when I can though it is not always possible unfortunately. CAB you appear to have lost your VW Badge are you in stealth mode?

At 70mph i didn't have much time to react!!!

Had to replace the grille and badge, he/she obviously clipped off the badge before getting stuck in my grille!

It came out of nowhere on the motorway. Didn’t have anytime to even react before it hit

Have you not got windscreen cover on your insurance? I had the screen replaced on mine a couple of years ago but because they fitted an OEM heated screen it was quite an expansive job - IIRC my excess was only £75 though. That said, I had to buy and fit another microphone for my Kenwood stereo as the Autoglass tech (aka useless b'stard) managed to cut through the cable on the original one when he did the job so that was another £25 or so. I made a point of checking that the heating was working before he left but never thought to check the microphone until I found it wasn't working by trying to answer a calls. The first and second calls I put down to an issue at the other end but after the third failure, the penny dropped and I investigated further.

About 20 years ago a deer ran out in front of Mrs Sasquatch on the M1. Nothing she could do, any attempts at evasion would have caused a pile up.

Much damage to car, but you could have knocked me down with a feather when her insurers said due to the lack of any fault on her part and the highly unusual circumstances they would write it up as a non-dault claim.
