Best method for mounting over bed locker/cupboard at tailgate?

Hi folks,

Back again on the forum and looking to add an overbed locker to our Multivan. I have built the locker from Evo Motion and now wondering how best to mount... At the front of the locker I have good mounting points but at the rear (tailgate), I am debating options.

This is the locker...

Should I,

- Mount ply squares to the metal frame with Sikaflex 221 and then use brackets - will this be strong enough?
- Use self tapping screws, mounting brackets straight in to the metal frame? is there anything/ any electrics I need to watch out for?!

That's what I'm gonna mount my eye level cupboards with .

Maybe consider using rivnuts into the metal frame? Would be super strong (assuming the rivnuts were fitted correctly!)

And self driller screws.?

(That's what I used on the side locker, but screwed up to the wood surround of the poptop)

Thanks all! And with rivnuts, is there anything in the frame I need to watch out for when I drill?! I am assuming that there is some wiring in there?

The wiring loom usually runs on the outside and then down inside the C-pillar - there's plenty of holes in the metalwork to be able to view the cavities though so you can double check before you drill anything.

Well that worked well - thanks folks!!

After a lot of measuring/remeasuring and practicing with rivnuts, I carefully drilled the holes and inserted them in to the tailgate frame. They are rock solid!
