Looking for some recommendations for decent sites prefably near mortehoe but north Devon in general.
Stayed at warcombe during covid when I had had the touring caravan.
Basic site is fine, but want some decent showers and washing facilities.
Cheers

We stayed here a few years ago. I remember it being quite nice and the village has multiple pubs etc

A mile or so further on towards Hartland Quay is the village of Stoke, where there's a site called Stoke Barton Farm and Campsite. Not too far from the hotel at Hartland Quay, and excellant access to the coast path if walking's your thing.

Sounds perfect as I’ll want some walking on this trip, aswell as a few beach days! 😎

Never stayed there but driven and walked past it loads of times sunny lyn is at the bottom of the hill lynmouth retreat sit on top of
Great area for walking or visiting
Someone else on here mentioned sunny lyn was a bit shady due to the hills either side
You thinking of going there
We are looking for somewhere to go late August. North Devon would be good and I don’t like going back to the same site twice so looking for options too

It all depends what you want but here are a few sites in North Devon Barnstaple area.
Lobb fields In Braunton
Cherry tree farm in Croyde
Ruda in Croyde
Bay view in Croyde
Hidden valley
Warcombe farm
Bay view farmers
Willingcott
Damage Barton
Easwell farm
Golden coast
There are so many to choose from just in that small area.

Thanks for this!

Last time we were there we stayed at Hele Valley Holiday Park which was good for Ilfracombe, and then Ocean Pitch Campsite which is as good as on Croyde Bay beach.

We often use Easewell Farm (the last time quite recently) and it’s pretty good and ticks the box of near Mortehoe being about 10 minutes walk away. Also, it’s pretty good value out of school holidays. We’ve never stayed there but I think their sister site, Twitchen House is similar but bit further to walk into the village.
The same goes for North Morte Farm which has better views from most of the camping fields. There are some levelled pitches with EHU but if you can live without EHU, the views can be spectacular. You will however be lucky to find a level pitch (but they are there if you know where to look!).
Somebody else mentioned Sunn Lyn near Lynmouth which we were at a few weeks ago. They would also get my vote but they have very limited pitches for campers/motorhomes, it’s a bit of a schlep to Mortehoe and the walk down and back up to Lynmouth or up and back down from Lynton can be a bit of a workout after a good scoff and a few pints.
There will be other opinions, but I’d say stay well away from the C&CC so-called Lynton site as it’s nowhere near the place if you prefer torelyonyour own feet for a night out.

I’m there! :D 🍻

Tbh, there was too many pictures of kids enjoying themselves on the recommended site website for me to consider that option. Nothing upsets me more than kids having fun!
You've just reminded me of the horror of our two sons returning home from Uni despite us paying their accomodation for the whole year each time, I had figured they were never coming back, what a cruel trick. 🤕:geek:
