Basic set up? Stihl battery charger?

Hello

So my future is in electric AP style batteries from Stihl. I’m using at least one battery per job and can do 3/4 jobs a day so will always need a back up.

I was hoping to have one charging from a leisure battery all the time even if the van was parked and off

Looked at some victron bits and it’s a world of unknown for me!

I’m happy to go to pro if it’s recommended, if so please do say!

Many thanks

Steve

What the battery and charger specs?..

Post a few pics of your kit.

If it were me , I’d get a ‘ecoflow river pro’ to charge your batteries on the job in van.
Then if you change vehicle or need to use it at home in a blackout situation you have options.
That’s exactly what I am doing,

Although this charger is rated to pull 6.5amps charging, I think it's going to be as impotant to know what capacity is of the batteries you are looking to charge for the tools themselves (& how many)? as this will give a start point for the 'full capacity' of the LB or Delta-flow type battery bank sytsem you will require & how you will charge that.

Stihl have many different capacity batteries for their tools (as do EGO power+ which I use) some of which have pretty big capacities.

That's an option..

More inf on that here....

.

I'll check the spec later to advise on an inverter, LB setup .

At the moment I’m running 2x500s and 1x300s AP battery’s

That’s exactly what I am doing,

The van is being made into a long term user friendly van, if anything I would add another van to the buisness

At the moment I’m running 2x500s and 1x300s AP battery’s
So that's;
2x 337Wh
1x 281Wh
How many times are you expecting to charge each of these these each working day?

Fyi, a 100ah lifpo4 lithium battery holds about 1200wh.

Those 3x batterys together would be about 1000wh.

So,

I would recommend a 100ah lifpo4 battery.

And a 30A - 50A DC-DC charger.

And a 1000w inverter.

....

I'd look at the Renogy kit.

They do all the above.

100ah smart lithium.
50A DC charger.
1000w inverter....

(That's what I'm running in the van at the mo)

That Combo will see you though a whole day,

Charging all three batteries when mobile,

Then a 2hr drive will have the van lithium fully charged.
