Awning rail?

Hi All,

I’m thinking about putting a Fiama f45s awning on my T6.

In terms of the brackets that fix the awning to the van, are there any particular ones to go for?

I saw a make called vanmoose that seem to be about twice the price of the Fiama one, is there any reason to go for the more expensive one?

Thanks.

The standard brackets bolt direct to the van stop you don't need a multirail.

But If you want a multirail, then the vanmoose are the ones to go for.

There are cheaper unbranded clowns.

Might be worth calling a camper firm and run through the options.

For example Coombe Valley Campers.

Thanks for the advice. Can I ask what is the advantage of the multi rail? Does it allow you to install other things apart for an awning or is it just that you can remove an awning when it using it?

Thanks.

Most people fit a multi-rail as it normally serves two purposes.

The first purpose is that it has a c-channel in it so you can attach the awnings and canopies by just sliding them into the channel. (Or a driveway kit that comes with a figure 8 channel and a section of double 6mm beaded kador strip)

The second purpose is that it acts as a rain gutter to stop any rain leaking down when you've got the all-in above or canopy about attached it redirects the rain to the front or back of the van. (So it doesn't drip down when you're coming in and out of the side slider when you have a canopy attached)

So for people that already have a multi-rail installed, fiama have brackets made that enable you to adapt and wind out all in to a van that already has a multi-rail.

...

It should also be noted that most wind out the armia have a c channel built into the front lip of the wind out section, as some of our guys attach the wind out all in to the front of the wind out section.

Thanks for the info much appreciated, reckon the multi rail is the best option.
