Hi all

When I ordered the van way back in 2016, inspected a heater, I’m not entirely sure what kind I have fitted, I just asked for a magic button that makes the van warm before I get in, which they provided for a pretty penny, think it was £3k.

I’d quite like to know what system(s) I have fitted
I have attached a photo of the stickers on the drivers door, if someone can identify the system, and tell me what it does, it would be a great help.

You have both diesel heaters.

The webasto automatically heats the engine coolant when starting the engine when it's below 5 degrees c.

The eberspacher is the auxiliary air heater and heats the cabin via a set of vents in the B pillar, you should have a separate control panel above the rear view mirror for this one.

There might be a variation on this but this is the most likely set up. You've probably also got a factory fitted 2nd battery which powers the eberspacher.

You have 2 systems fitted - Webasto coolant heater for warming up the engine in sub-5 degree temperatures and an Eberspacher air heater for heating the interior. The Eberspacher should be capable of being configured to operate via a remote Easystart for warming up your van whilst still in your pit.

Thanks for the swift replies guys

I have a remote and the programmer thing above the mirror.
So the button only does the interior heating while I’m making my coffee.

What setting are available to the Eberspacher system? It work on the remote for 30mins, and I’ve set it to keep the interior temperature to a set level, are there any other settings I can change?

Is there any parameters available to change with the Webasto?

You should be able to extend the operating time of the Eberspacher - someone else should be able to help you with that as I only work with Webastos. ( I may have a manual for it if you can find out what remote system it is )
Ignore the Webasto - it should do its own thing in the winter as the temperature drops. The Eberspacher is the important one for your comfort.

Is it one of these?

That is pre the Easystart that uses the above remotes. You would need a decent Eberspacher technician to upgrade or in depth knowledge to do it yourself.
I would just stick with what you have for the sake of your sanity and wallet!

Tbh the remote isn't bad, up to a 1km range, and the controller can set timers and different levels of heat. It's basic but does the job.

Ok, thanks for your wealth of knowledge and insight, I’ll keep the cash hidden from SWMBO for something else then 👍

What model do you have? Pic of the label would help then I can look through the manuals.
Thanks.

I'm 99% sure its:

If you give me a few minutes I will double check.

Edit: Double checked thats the correct one. Cant find the user manual anywhere though :(

With the engine heater, what temperature does that heat the engine upto before it turns off?
A few years back, I got in the van after leaving it parked for a good 10 hours, unused the magic button to defrost the van twice over a 1hr period, when I come to start the van, it was already partially warmed up, the needle was at the 9 O’Clock position.
Is there a way of making it run every time I start the van to aid in it warm up time all year round?
