Audi Q5 Adblue Issue

Just sold my Q5 to someone here in Germany, but just before he came to collect it - the Adblue error came up on the screen 'no restart in 1000km'. A week prior, i topped up the adblue with a tiny bit, and instantly got a check engine light. I am worried because the adblue was old, some crystals have got into the pump because now i have a engine fault code pointing to the pump motor in the adblue system.

I told him i would fix the issue, as i didnt want to hide it from him and i wanted to be honest. How easy is this to fix, i really don't want to spend loads on a new Audi tank / pump! I have put Adblue cleaner in and topped up with fresh adblue, we are hoping a good drive will clear it....

Apart from a window switch and a parking sensor (both of which I replaced myself with £25 parts from parts from eBay), the only thing that has ever gone wrong with my now 12 year old Q5 was related to Adblue a couple of years ago. My tame Audi dealer was unable to identify a cause and was talking potential telephoner numbers to sort it out so I had adblue mapped out for about £200 and it's been fine since (including passing 2 MOTs and associated emissions tests). I appreciate that approach might not work for your potential buyer though. Hope the drive will clear the current faults but I would be surprised if they didn't return at some point - it's a recurring issue with my T6.

I might offer it to him, also illegal in Germany but i am all for deleting it!

Its a 2018 FY Model, only thing that needed doing was a recall on the brake booster, otherwise been fine!
