I remember a while ago Peugeot had problem with dpf regens as they were triggered by counting the times the fuel filler cover was opened which worked fine if the tank was filled up but caused problems when drivers bunged in a fivers worth ( back in the day when that was possible) every couple of days .
To make this forum related obvs vw would never come up with such a flawed system…………
