Anyone have Clayton supercharger?

As per title. We have the LPS 2 3000 and solar but still find it eats battery if we aren’t careful. I was considering adding the supercharger as another means of keeping things topped up if sun not out. It seems like it might be relatively easy to add in but wonder if anyone has done it and can comment on installation and whether it’s worth it?

Cheers

Some back ground info..

I have the supercharger installed and it is very good. I have never actually monitored how much charge I get compared to the length of time the van is ticking over for but if the Clayton gets low I usually run the van for 15/20 minutes and it gives me enough for another day. On a run it charges to 100% quickly.
I find the fridges drains the Clayton a lot during warm weather. I added more vents to try and help with this.

Sounds good. Did you install yourself?

Yes that’s about right. There are expansion battery packs but they are crazy expensive! Could buy a top of the range Jackery and just use that instead lol
Sounds like the supercharger maybe your answer, I run two fridges, one in the van and one in the awning. I've got 230Ah indoors and a Bluetti 90Ah, in the awning on portable panels. 134Ah would last me 2 days without sun. I hate having to conserve with free power!

I haven’t yet run out, so I’ll probably see how it goes on first festival before I change anything. One other thing I’m not sure on is if it’s draining power with the inverter on even with nothing plugged in. It’s meant to have auto switch off but I’m not sure it’s working as I expect. The Mrs keeps forgetting to turn off the 240v after it’s used so that maybe part of it

Sorry, yes I forgot to add that bit. I installed it with a friend who is really clued up but I could have done it myself. Are you able to route cables? I guess you will install the supercharger near your Clayton so you can use the existing cable and then add cable to the Clayton?

I alway turn 240 off and leave 12v on.

The Clayton is installed in a cupboard that’s easily accessible and next to the fuse board so if it’s all done locally to the main unit then should be fairly easy but I’m not sure if any cables or fuses need upgrading. I have space under the main unit to fit the supercharger if needed.

My inverter sups 4A if left switched on, my Mrs is always leaving it switched on! She's great though at packing the fridge and van, she's forgiven... Must say my new rigid 270w panel is good even with poor light, just looks a bit 'visible'!

Out of interest, do you see what wattage it puts out with decent sun? Mine is 330w but with the warm sunny day earlier on the week it was only showing about 180. But I guess you need summer sun to get the full whack?

The most I've had this year so far is 219 watts, last years best was 274 on several occasions, maxed out at 20A.
