Anti squeal brake shims?

Original rear VW pads came with these shims on the back of the pads.

New brembo ones didn't, should these be moved over?

In the past I’ve just reused them

A lot of aftermarket pads have them anyway, might look like a sticker. If it's just the bare (painted) metal then use ceramic brake grease on the contact areas, don't reuse those

From the horses mouth - NO don’t fit them
If the pads come with shims - fit them.
Don’t fit the old shims.

I'm still on copper slip ....and at the rate I get through it then this tin will last until i'm long dead and buried .
