Amp connections

Looking for some advice I am in the process of connecting an amp up to my t6.1 standard head unit. I have it all wired in correctly I think? It came with a lead that you plug into the existing stereo plug that then feeds the amp also there is a ground wire and a positive connection which comes from the battery. I have got power at the plug which goes into the amp but no lights at all on the amp even when the ignition is on. I can’t see an on off switch anywhere am I missing something really simple? The company I purchased it all from is closed today. Got all the dash in bits and need the van tomorrow. Thanks in advance

What amp is it? Also perhaps an obvious one is the stereo turned on to power the remote on the amp

It’s a focal impulse 4320 amp. How do you turn the power on for the amp on the stereo? Thanks for the quick reply

The amp should have a remote connection so that it only powers on when the stereo is on. I suspect that’s the remote lead for the stereo to tell the amp it’s on otherwise the amp would be on all the time draining your battery. Is the additional wire connected to your harness at the moment. If you’ve got a multimeter you can check which pins are ignition live and you should use one of those

It all came pre wired just plug and play so I believed all the connections are plugged in so not really sure what to do next. Unless there is a problem with the supplied cable or amp. I thought you meant there was a setting on the head unit to enable an amp

I think it is a problem with the rem wire I’m not getting voltage on that when the ignition is on.

Your alternative is to piggyback of a switched live in the fuse box although your stereo should have a switched live

I will give them a ring in the morning to see what they suggest. Thanks for your input. Really frustrating going for the big switch on and nothing 😩
