I've just fitted a ctek 250se to a lead leisure battery on my 18 plate t6 when I checked the voltage i noticed it was chargeing at 16.8v so I then checked my main engine battery wich is also chargeing at 16.8v does this mean my alternator is done for any help much appreciated

What are you using to measure that voltage - are you confident it is accurate ?

Pete

With everything turned off, what voltage does it say your leisure battery and starter battery are ?

Pete

That will be a good test, with engine off you should see 'normal' voltages, if it still seems high i would try another multimeter to be sure

I've just realised I had a digital monitor I'm going to fit in van so I've just rigged it up engine battery says 12.4v leisure battery says 12.9v ant they both read 14.7v while chargeing using this meter I'll also give it another check on a multi meter at work tomorrow cheers

Just tested it with another multimeter main battery says 12.4v leisure battery says 12.9v bothe chargeing at 14.7v you guys where right the multimeter was a dud thanks for your help much appreciated
