All Seasons Leisure ( UK POPTOPS) Avoid !

Please take time to read this as I wouldn’t wish the experience I have had with this company on my worst enemy.

Owning a campervan had been a long-standing dream of mine. After carrying out what I believed to be thorough research, I decided to purchase from All Seasons Leisure — a decision I now deeply regret.

From the moment I drove the van off the forecourt, problems began. In fact, the engine warning light came on before I had even made it home. Over the following 15 months, it felt like the van spent more time in the company’s workshop than in my possession. Of the four trips I had booked and paid for during that period, every one was cut short due to recurring faults including oil leaks, a broken pop-top roof, and water ingress.

To their credit, All Seasons Leisure did cover the cost of the various mechanical and structural repairs. However, the frequency and seriousness of the issues completely undermined any confidence I had in both the vehicle and the company.

The final incident proved to be the breaking point. After the van returned from their Newcastle workshop, where repairs had supposedly been carried out to the bed board and leaking pop-top, I discovered that two screws had been driven directly through the roof of the van. At that stage, I had entirely lost faith in both the workmanship and professionalism of the company.

Hugh at the Kilmarnock branch initially appeared helpful and sympathetic. He suggested that the van could be sold on a sale-or-return basis, waived the standard 10% sales commission, and added an additional £1,000 to the asking price as a gesture of compensation for the difficulties I had experienced.

5 weeks later the van had sold .

Although it was bittersweet to learn this, I was relieved to believe that the stress and ongoing problems were finally behind me, allowing me to move on and eventually purchase another vehicle elsewhere.

However, the situation deteriorated yet again the evening before my finance agreement was due to be settled and approximately £7,500 returned to me. Hugh contacted me to admit that he had “forgotten” to inform me that the van had actually been sold for £4,000 less than the agreed asking price and I would be getting £3000 less than I had been led to believe I would receive !

I find it astonishing that a supposedly reputable campervan company would authorise a £4,000 reduction without first obtaining my permission. I was left shocked and deeply distressed by this revelation. I had made it clear from the outset that I was under no financial pressure to sell the vehicle and that, if it had not sold by the summer, I intended to keep it until the following year. Under no circumstances would I have agreed to accept such a significant reduction for the benefit of the first prospective buyers who viewed it.

As an explanation, I was told that the purchasers could only “stretch” to £32,000. Effectively, it seems I was expected to subsidise their purchase through no choice of my own.

I would therefore strongly advise anyone considering using All Seasons Leisureto think very carefully before doing so. In my experience, customer care and communication fell far below the standard I would expect from a so called reputable company.

Finally, if by chance the current owners of the lovely “VEG” van happen to read this review, I would strongly recommend checking the roof carefully. The two silicone-filled holes are not, as you will no doubt be told, from removed aerials. They were caused by an employee at the Newcastle workshop who drove screws directly through the roof while supposedly repairing the pop-top. I have serious doubts as to whether the damage was repaired before the vehicle was sold on to you — at a heavily discounted price.

Oh dear.... What's the van reg and few pics.. it might pop up in here with the new owners?

The entire experience has left me broken hearted, extremely angry and frustrated. Unsure I will ever own another van after the horrific experience I have had with All Seasons Leisurely.Hopefully the new owners will have better luck than I did 😢
