Air Temperature of 58C!

Hi folks,

I noticed my fuel economy drop slightly before I noticed my 2017 T6 102 began showing an external air temperature reading of up to 58C!

Soon afterwards the engine management light came on ☹️

My friendly local mechanic ran an EMU diagnostic and advised of faults for the intake-air temperature sensor (p011100), outside temperature sensor (p007100), air mass meter signal (p010100), throttle valve position sensor (p012100) and some sensor references (voltage a, b and C circuits).

They've cleared the warning light but advised it's a dealer job from experience, as they're needed to ser up the EMU with the new parts.

Any similar experiences and how they were resolved before I undergo open wallet surgery please?!

possible faulty sensor or damaged cables.

start by unplugging the sensors one at a time and rescan.

could be a rubbed through wire on the REF volt for the sensors.

I had a spurious temperature reading, an AdBlue fault and an ABS error at the same time. It was the ABS sensor triggering the other faults.

On CAN-BUS systems, one fault can trigger other ghost faults.

Replaced my ABS sensor and the other ‘faults’ went.

Worth tracking down the specific fault for yours first as it may clear the others.
