Advice please... Grit behind brake pad?

So a lad from work says I've got a stone trapped behind my brake pad and has it been squealing?

I said yeah I had a stone stuck in there the other week but it's gone now. on the drivers side.

He says no it's your passenger side front. It's starting to score the disc...

So I've had a look and it does look like I have something behind my brake pad potentially scoring my disc - only slightly.

Do I take it to the garage or try and figure it out myself?

I'm too broke til payday to go to the garage and I am working 12hr shifts every day for the next two weeks pretty much and then was hoping to drive to Scotland...

Dunno what to do. I can just drive it and ignore it. Surely if there was still something trapped I'd hear it?
I can try whip the wheel off early afternoon tomorrow before work and get calipers off to have a look but I don't have a wind back tool... Or the energy/mental bandwidth

Tell me what to do please!

You won't need a wind back tool.

Anyway, I doubt you have anything there now. I suspect it is an old score. If there was something there, it would be making a noise. It wouldn't do any harm having a look for piece of mind

The discs look a little lipped also, looks like at least an advisory in August MOT regardless

Could you try a very directed well aimed pressure washer to see if you can dislodge the presumed piece of grit? Not sure if it is a good idea though but someone else might come up with a better one.

That's a good call.

Just a bit worried that it might direct water into somewhere (everywhere) it shouldn't - so a tentative idea.

Thanks guys. Will try tomorrow aft. Need to have a research on the hows and the whats required. Not feeling confident and am workin too many night shifts at the mo so have a lot of confusion/fatigue. Not keen to use the deathtrap van jack and have only got two 1.5te axle stands.
