Advice please 3 year old T6.1 + Leaving standing ...

1. So, potentially off to see a 3 year old T6.1, 30000. on the clock, 2.0 110ps Highline camper. I'm fairly okay looking around vehicles generally, looking for smoke, knocks etc but is there anything pecular to this van that I out to pay special attention to, please? The videos I've been sent look mint.

2. IOver the last decade, I've liked to go off travelling to Asia for a couple of months or so at a time, usually between Nov and March when it is freezing and rubbish weather in the UK. My current petrol car doesn't care how long I'm away - it always happily fired up after 2, 3 or 4 months sitting outside my house, and carried on as normal. I've not owned a diesel before and know what I've read about adblue etc being a potential problem. So, I guess the question is, is there anything I should be aware of before buying, is this a bad idea buying this if I'm likely to be walkabout for long periods? Advice needed, ideally based on experience - I have done the usual Google and AI searches!

As a minimum I would keep the battery regularly charged as the battery will go flat over that period of time, possibly more so if it’s a camper as well. However, if it’s got solar on the roof consider something like the Ablemail AMT12 to trickle charge it from the leisure battery.

I do the same thing off to SE Asia for the winter. Bare minimum put on a CETEK Battery conditioner. This will keep all the batteries and electronics up to the correct voltage. If the vehicle is outside place several crystal type dehumidifiers inside the vehicle. I always spray the discs and wheels with silcone 100% protects from corrosion. Just power wash it off before you drive! I also use a full windscreen and door windows protector. No doubt others will have even more suggestions. Good luck.

Thanks for your suggestions. Appreciated. So nothing to specifically look for in terms of buying? TBH, with so few miles and 3 years old, I can’t imagine finding too much that’s an issue … but who knows …

Make sure of full service history, check all services, take out a warranty. Sometimes worth having an independent inspection by RAC or similar. If buying from a trader you have 3 months warranty. Check tyres, bodywork for signs of repair, hpi check, under bonnet visual inspection, leaks, unusual noises etctake for test drive.
