Afternoon all, our van is nearing 99k which kind of freaks me out as I've never had such a high mileage vehicle before.

I know it will go on for a lit longer if looked after and so far, it's had the timing belt and water pump done and been serviced every year and its recently had an oil change even though it did less than 3k.

So question is. Do I service the van every 6 months or 5k mileage or every 12 months and say 10k mileage, to make sure it keeps on going?

What's everyone's thoughts?

Normal servicing will suffice as far as fluids and filters, but you'll need to pay more regular attention to non service items that wear with age.

Personally (and there’s many others on here with the same thinking) I change the oil every 12 months or 10k miles, usually less. It’s cheap and easy and the lifeblood of the engine.
For the rest of the stuff it gets the VW service schedule.
Mines on 121k now.
Just did a 6000 mile road trip (on fresh oil/filter) without a hiccup and it’s due a service soon so that oil will be getting changed after 5 months and 7k miles.

12months regardless of mileage…at 41/2 years old and 32k still like new…..Even treat the fuel to an additive ( archoil) …Just wish I had a bendy scope so I could keep an eye on that dreaded EGR pipe ( might just get it changed at 5 year point …can we every really trust our service centers )
