4Motion Prop Shaft and CV Joints

I can check later if the front end joint matches with the middle ones. I still have the old 3-piece shaft disassembled in pieces. 👍🏻

I have a problem with my cardan shaft (sounds painful) and came across this video from Meyle about their repair kit -
which may still be available.
I thought this information maybe useful to others.

Cheers

This is quite old thread, but my post propably isn't worth starting a new one.

I recently replaced my T5.1 LWB 3-piece propshaft with a T6 2-piece propshaft(this was also available in T5.1 after 2/2014) and is interchangeable with each other. All of the cv joints can be fit in both style shafts.

I had to replace the rear cv joint, because the old one was stuck quite badly. VW or aftermarket brands don't offer a replacement joint, but I found Land Rover Freelander 2 uses similar enough joint in the propshaft and can be used as a replacement one.
I’ve got a T5.1 lwb (CAAC engine 6spd gearbox) that I’m looking for the correct part numbers to do the same propshaft swap… to the 2pc instead of 3pc. It seems like I just find part numbers for sections but not the whole assembly. Original propshaft is either 1922mm or 1950 I believe. Any advice on part numbers for ordering? Or how to verify fitment before ordering?

My T5.1 LWB had 816 mm(1-piece front) and 1922 mm(2-piece rear) propshafts and I replaced them with:

1055 mm front piece
7E0 521 101 C

1688 mm rear piece
7E3 521 102 G

Thanks for the info - that's very helpful! Any issues with the hanger bearing being in a new location? vs the 2 from the 3pc?

The support bearing fits the oe location, you can fit a propshaft brace bracket in the previous rear bearing place.
