Has anyone considered or had any experience of adding a 270 degree awning such as seen often on 4x4’s? I can find a number of choices made for a T6 but wondering on pros and cons of such a setup.

Interesting. Never heard of them before, but now wondering why they aren't more popular in the Transporter scene.

I have seen images of the 270deg versions. they have been available for off road vehicle for a number of years. It is strange that they have not caught for T6 ect. Perhaps users have kept it too them self’s. I can see advantages, the sun and rain do not always come from the same direction and they cover more orifices!

Seems you can get them that self suppprt and look easy to put up and down. Seems clearance with a poptop is not an issue.

I saw a trade stand at BUSFEST a couple of years ago selling them, along with loads of other overlanding gear, I remember the awning had a huge area of cover, you probably can’t open tailgate fully though?
I guess most fit on an expedition style roof rack like front runner flatdog ARB,they all make racks for a transporter so it should be a easy fit,
Talking of Awnings, I’m going to fit a shower cubicle to our van in a few months so that should be interesting..I think it should work out

I really want a 270 degree awning, unsure if I can fit one with a HiLo roof (Horizon Sport now) but most of them fit to roof racks, no good if you want to pop the roof. I know it’s doable, just need to find someone clever with brackets! Let me know if you find anything.

Predator 4x4 have a van specific 270 awning. Looks like it could clamp to an awning rail but needs something secure to type the to edge of the awning to when folded out?

I have ordered 270 awning for my barn door van hopefully fits well saw a landtrekker on one of the trade stand vw t6 vehicle at Busfest and looks really nice especially at half the price of a fiama and fits on roof rails rather than drill in the van.

If you’re fitting it on roof rails does that mean you don’t have a pop top roof or is there way that you have both?

No I don’t have a pop top just me the wife and the dog so don’t really need one plus I use the rail to occasionally carry my paddle boards. There are some you can drill on the side like the fiama if you have a pop top but then if you want a driveway awning rail would have to fit that somewhere as the 270 awning does not have a c rail.

Latitude tents Latitude roof tents also do a self supporting 270 degree I've been look at, particularly as they do a longer version for a van and an awning to attach Awning walls which would make a massive area around the van and would be quick to put up/take down.....Was looking to see if anyone had tried this on here?
Matched with a roof tent and awning off the other sliding door and you've got a proper set up I reckon without having to cut a hole in the roof for a pop top (which on a Caravelle is an expensive decision)
