can anyone tell me what tyres come as standard on a new 204 4motion. I know its 17" but are the tyres meant to be m+s as standard on a 4motion?

Hi, my Van, exactly as yours, was delivered with tyres that were the low rolling load resistant type as standard. I bought a set of Devonport wheels off Ebay to have the alloys powdercoated ahead of my van delivery and the tyres on them were winter ones, so have kept the winter ones on as we live in the sticks. I think VW changed them for the extra fuel effeiciency they needed. I hope this helps but please message me if you need any more info. Long live the forum.

Ours came on Bridgestone Turanza summer tyres. All season are a paid for option.

My 4motion came with Goodyear vector 2 m&s rated tyres but mine was a stock van so not sure what they had specked

We also have the Turanzas which are a mid range Summer tyre: a bit daft on a 4motion van but they are better than I expected.

T32 4Motion collected today HAD 215/60 R17 104 Continental VanContact for rolling resistance tyres on. Drove it for 7 miles to get 255/45 R18 Continental Sport contact5 fitted. Was a bit worried as it felt like a surprising hard and bouncy ride on original tyres but the new ones if anything feels a bit better.

Not sure if the factory fit ones had higher pressures in to reduce the contact area or the new ones are spreading the load differently bu
t they feel better to me and I was expecting them to be worse. I don't think the load rating going from 104 on the originals to 103 on the new ones would make any difference.

T32 used to have M+S Goodyear Vectors as standard, but of recent it been a mixture of these and continental summer tyres, mostly the latter. You now have pay an upgrade of for M&S on your T32.

Low rolling resistance tyres have a much harder compound so will feel a bit hard.
