2018 Kombi revs on its own

I have this strange revs thing happening and wondered if anybody else has had this. if I drive at a steady 25-35, I can feel the van almost take over as if I am in cruise control, but I am not, the revs show 1000rpm yet it is obvious I am doing more than that, remove foot off of accelerator and the van happily goes along at a steady speed, in traffic it can be a bit alarming, when I dip the clutch to break this weird thing the revs rise to 1200rpm and then drop back to tick over. I have had similar on other vehicles and was once told its like a walking speed thing??? used on land rovers etc.. cheers in advance N

I've never had it on my T6 or on two Land rovers, nor have I heard of others experiencing a similar problem, except my Grandad in the 1970's in his Land rover but that turned out to be his welly had got jammed under the seat and he couldn't take his foot off the accelerator. Not helpful, I know.
