2016 T6 - can I fit a 2020 T6 head unit?

G’day. I have a 2016 T6 with a standard head unit-which looks to be about 20cm across (small screen) any feedback on being able to fit a 2020 head unit which looks to be about 24cm, please?

Not only do I think the T6.1 headunit is too but to fit, but component protection will probably stop it working.
