Hi guys

Just a quick question on powered coolers/fridges.

We are doing our holiday trip in T6.1 this summer from Ireland to Poland as we do every year but this time I want to get a powered fridge or cooler box 15L/22L max in size.
We taking our dog with us too and she will be located right behind us in her big cage. I only have bottom half of the bulkhead fitted as I prefer to see whats going on in the back of the van so theres plenty of ventilation in the cabin/load area hopefully but wonder with the fridge connected near tailgate would be safe enough to have it there with the potential heat or vapour that it might generate being on while we trek across?
Just looking out for the dog basically.I have climatronic fitted in the van and with most of the drive being on motorway having windows open wouldn't be ideal option for us.
Any info would be great :)
Thank you in advance

Stan

The only fridge that would cause any vapor would be a traditional 3 way absorption fridge running on gas, that would be fitted and fumes vented anyway, so don't worry about that aspect.

Hopefully you're getting a compressor fridge, they will have warm air blowing from them as they are a heat pump, but as they are the more efficient kind it will be negligible if the space is well ventilated - probably don't put the hot area of the fridge right next to the dog cage.

I'd avoid the cheaper thermal/peltier based electric cool boxes as they are much less efficient and generate a lot more heat as well as generally a strong fan. Not ideal for your battery life and more heat in the back of the van.
