rusty lee swivel

Hi All! Yesterday I installed a Rusty Lee swivel base for the passenger seat on my T6. It’s a T32, DSG, Highline, Kombi. The process was fairly straightforward and, I am really pleased with it. My questions are. Has anyone doctored the seat trim to make it fit? Do I really need the handbrake...
