help appreciated please. CXGB engine, ca.55k miles.
Had rear egrpipe replaced under warranty 2 months ago (hole in it) and now front one has completely come away from its flange - see pic. Sadly warranty expired a month and a half ago!
What causes these to go? Material Fatigue? Bursting under...
Hi, interested whether there were any issues with the Adblue pipes, injector or sensors when you had it reconnected - I appreciate it was only sitting there unused for a couple of months. Also, where you say you had the EGR cooler and pipes replaced, did that include the EGR valve as well...
I've just replaced the EGR value and cooler on a 2016 180hp T6 and found the below link very useful

Now there's one or two small things that might assist anyone else thinking of doing the same. I tried my best...
I'm also noticing similar with my 2019 Kombi. EGRpipe replaced last October. Drove it all winter with no codes appearing. Now bit of warmer weather & P0401 code is back.
I'd very much doubt that's a pipe...
You may need to authorize the £500 diagnostic fee for them to investigate.
Then when The faulty parts are fixed the £500 would be absorbed by the warranty claim.
Or take it to a different garage for a second option.
And.... For that price you can get a...
I am not a mechanic and even less an expert of VW EGR, so take my words with a grain of salt, but reading this Forum, many would replace the engine intake manifold too.
Seems it made of cheap plastic, it gets all corroded with the EGS fumes, and there even also some small "valves" plastic parts...
...I’ve had issues with the coil light coming on, engine light etc.
so far I’ve had DPF done and exhaust flush.
A new intercooler fitted, EGRpipe, EGR valve fitted.
Engine runs better and not as hot but coil light and same faults back p023600 and p023800.
Also p200800 now too.
Can anyone...
We are having the same issues at the moment on a T6 150. EGR cooler changed last week, loosing coolant still but van seems to be running okay however fuel economy isn't great. Did you get sorted?
So this was just the plastic connector loosing from a pipe. Anyway replaced EGR - didn’t loose ‘much’ anymore and clearly no exhaust in the expansion tank anymore BUT the big bit is that after 1800km there has been still a coolant loss of around 400ml. So one wonder WTF is it?
...please. Over the last week I've noticed an acidic smell in the cab when the engine is started from cold first thing in the morning. Smell goes away after 10 minutes or so when driving. I had the rear EGRpipe replaced last year and the new one looks ok with no leaks. Any ideas? Thanks, Rich.
Turns out the issue was the EGRpipe which had a broken seal
Just got the health check video so will find out the financial damage tomorrow
Apparently I also need a air con service but I’ll get this done elsewhere
If anyone comes across this in future… some tips:
Yes, take starter motor off, makes taking the bottom bolt under cooler off much easier from underneath. Taking starter out isn’t too difficult - disconnect battery first!
Also take coolant bottle and windscreen washer tube out and fuel filter...
